Windows in Holland

310° 00' NET

No, this is not about Microsoft. I really mean windows, just normal regular windows.

In Holland, they hate them! Well, at least they hate to keep them closed.
It's somekind of a ritual thing, or maybe it's in the genes, I don't know.

The thing is, these Dutch just love the fresh air, they can't get enough of it. It is The Key to your well being. Makes you strong and healthy and perky and happy. Fresh air. That's all....yup.

It is one of the most annoying things I have encountered here. Open windows. All the time, all around the year. No matter what the weather is outside "Oh, I'm so ready for bed. I'm dead tired. Say what, let's open the window, get some fresh air. It's good for you..." or "What a wonderful brisk morning, I know, let's open the window!" - - - - - - - ARGGGGGHHHHGHGHGHGHRRGHH-HH!!!!!

SHUT THE FREAKING WINDOW!!!

If it's so nice and refreshing, go outside to sleep! If it's so nice and wonderful, go outside to have your breakfast!

Sometimes I think the ideal dutch home would be one with only three walls. To get all that delicious fresh air in the house with ease.

PS. Where I'm living, the air first of all is not that 'fresh' to start with since there is a huge steel plant just a sniffs length away. So much for the freshness.

PPS. Another thing dutch people hate is radiators, you are not supposed to use them. They are just hanging on your wall so that you can hang your socks and underware to dry. But that's a subject for another time.
